I’m Shekinah (she/her), a passionate researcher, educator, and advocate. Currently, I am a Doctoral Candidate at Washington State University and serve as the Director of Programs & Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) at the Massachusetts Council on Gaming & Health.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed impactful leadership programs, built strong collaborations between industry and academia, and taught and mentored hundreds of students from middle school to undergraduate levels. My focus has always been on opening doors for underrepresented communities within the gaming/gambling and hospitality sectors.
My research on gender equity in gaming sheds light on the barriers women face in the industry, particularly workplace discrimination and harassment. By exploring the challenges women encounter, I aim to help gaming companies build safer, more equitable workplaces for women.
